Art Deco faux tortoiseshell cuff bangle

If you follow me on Instagram (or know me IRL), you’ll know I have a penchant for vintage and antique snake jewellery! I was thrilled to discover this beautiful piece recently at the Shepton Flea Market.

Circa 1920s, this is an early plastic, faux tortoiseshell snake bangle or cuff. It is sleek, simple and elegant.

The silhouette is simultaneously instantly recognisable as a serpent, and incredibly minimalist.

It's an elegant, Art Deco piece and the perfect addition to any snake lover's jewellery collection.

It is available on my Etsy shop, amongst dozens of other hand picked vintage treasures!

Reworked vintage pendants with chunky freshwater pearl necklaces

Here are two beauties that I recently made using some vintage pendants. I love combining interesting, unique charms or pendants with beautiful, shimmering freshwater pearls.

I used a lovely 3D vintage, chunky enamel strawberry pendant and paired it with large pearls.

For the gold shell necklace, I paired a vintage gold shell pendant with heishi shaped pearls.

The shell necklace has sold, but at the time of writing this, the strawberry necklace is still available.

Both are one of a kind :-)

1970s vintage gold snake necklace on Etsy

It absolutely made my day discovering this STUNNING 1970s snake necklace at a recent flea market and I had to snap it up!

With a gold omega chain and lariat design, it gently snakes (tee hee) around the neck.

It is a stunning collector’s piece and in EXCELLENT condition.

Available on my Etsy shop now alongside lots of other vintage gems.

Sustainable Fashion Weekend SFW HUB Plymouth Makers Market

SFW Hub Plymouth took place last weekend and it was the first market I’ve taken part in since at least 2019…and I LOVED it!

I’d forgotten what it’s like to chat and mingle with customers, other stallholders and small businesses.

Working from home and working for yourself, by yourself, can be isolating and it’s easy to forget how enjoyable it is to chat and compare ups and downs with other creators. And so now I’m on the lookout for other suitable markets and events…I’ve got the buzz!

Teddy was the star of the show, only barking at a handful of customers ;-) One lady visited the market on the Sunday just to meet him! Her mum had seen Teddy the day before and said she needed to go and seek him out! :-)

Here are some photos from the weekend, kindly taken by Abigail Eaton / Mary Cullen.
